  15. ~~~~~~~~~~~
  16.     A collection of MagicWorkBench icons, sorted according to the
  17. pictures and the applications they show. Want an Printer icon? Look in
  18. the Printer drawer!

  21. Requirements
  22. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  23.     - 2.5 Meg of Hard Disk space for the Archive.
  24.     - A further 2.5 Meg on the same Hard Disk for installation (which
  25.     can be recovered after the installation is complete - see below)
  26.     - Kickstart 2.04 or above.

  28. Introduction
  29. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  30.     Having an little artistic skill, don't have the talent to create
  31. my own perfect icons, therefore I collect as many as possible.
  32.     However when I come to try and find one to suit my purposes,
  33. e.g. an icon showing a computer then I have to sort through all the
  34. different archives until I find one which will do. Wouldn't be a
  35. lot easier if they were all in corresponding drawers, so I could just
  36. open the Computer drawer and there are all the computer icons? Yep I
  37. thought and so this now rather large collection of icons came about.
  38.     The other problem I was having was finding icons all of the same
  39. size to use with the Toolmanager Dock. I have created several separate
  40. drawers in which there are nothing but icons of the same size.

  43. Installation
  44. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

  46. To fit the archive onto the disk, it was compressed in two stages. It
  47. was firstly collected into an uncompressed archive and then compressed
  48. onto this disk. The complete unarchived collection is around 2.5 Meg
  49. in size.

  51. Due to this, it has to be decompressed in two stages. First it has to be
  52. decompressed off this disk to the Hard Disk to create the uncompressed
  53. archive. Then the uncompressed archive is expanded into the full Icon
  54. Archive.

  56. The installation script provided will ask for the directory where you
  57. want The Icon Archive to be put. It will then create an Archive directory
  58. where all the icons will be installed. It will delete the uncompressed
  59. archive when it has finished the installation.

  62. More Icons
  63. ~~~~~~~~~~
  64.     This disk just contains the 1000 or so MagicWorkBench icons from
  65. The Icon Archive. There are over 2500 more icons in the Icon Archive,
  66. which can be found on three further disks. The complete archive takes up
  67. about 10 Meg of disk space!
